This trade mission builds on a market research that is being conducted in Q3 & Q4 of 2024. This market research will be published and shared during the trade mission in BC. At the same time we are exploring the opportunities for setting-up a multi-year collaboration through a PIB (parters for international business). This trade mission is part of this exploratory phase.

Practical information

Why British Columbia?

British Columbia has growth potential, not only for established names, but also for Dutch start-ups and scale-ups. Due to the close ties with the Netherlands through Dutch immigration and the good reputation of Ag-Tech from the Netherlands, it is an attractive environment for Dutch companies. The sector in British Columbia also faces similar problems as the sector in the Netherlands, with employee shortages and increasing pressure for higher levels of sustainability within the food system. This leads to a natural demand for sustainable solutions in the field of automation, robotization and AI, which can sometimes already be found in the Netherlands but have yet to find their way to Western Canada.

For whom is this mission?

Participation in this mission is exclusively open to Dutch companies that are active in the field of; (high-tech) greenhouse horticulture with solutions for automation, robotization, AI and sustainable growing in greenhouses.

In addition, the mission is also explicitly open to start-ups, young entrepreneurs and scale-ups.
